Simple yet effective project! I wanted a laptop stand i could use on the couch, in bed or on my table. I also wanted to try kerfing wood. I just used a single piece of 15mm birch plywood and kerfed the wood so I could bend it. I also tried out steaming the wood to see if if that would help anything. In the end i think that did help keep the wood in place, however the clamping did leave marks on the top due to the wood being softer while wet so i needed to sand that down. Another lesson learned!

Before starting, I decided to test kerfing on a scrap piece of wood to figure out how many kerfs I'd actually need for the angle I wanted. In the and with the blade I was using, it came down to around ±9 degrees per kerf. I used 9 kerfs with spacing of about 8mm between them.
I made some simple jigs to clamp the wood. It's not exactly 90 degrees; that was intended.

Clamping both sides. So the pressure from the jigs in the top left little indentations which i sanded down later.

Finished product! Works great for the the couch or in bed. I'm not a very big guy but if you have larger legs you could make this a few cms higher. Current dimensions(WxHxD): 58x14,5x25
